Excellent report.

But, when Panda Cloud Antivirus will be included in the test? or it wont be included for it's different approach for detection.

I do not know yet. Maybe in 2010. Personally I would probably prefer to include Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 instead of just PCAV.

Approximate release date for the new Malware Removal Test (2010?)

Dear AV admin,

Great job on the IT corporate reviews 2010  , i'm assuming you are also working on a "Malware Removal Test" for this year, do you have an approximate release date for such a report?

Thanks.

Whole Product Dynamic Test - Recent Results

Hi There,

Sorry if I had posted this in the wrong section, this is my first post in this forum. Feel welcome to move it to the appropriate discussion board.

I just looked through your site and realized that you've released the Whole Product Dynamic Test results. I would like to congratulate your team for such a well drafted results. From an average AV user's standpoint, this result would make more sense when it comes to choosing which AV product that they need to buy.

Many AV vendors updated their products and malware also became more improved and difficult. Do you plan to continue to test removal/cleaning capabilities?

Dear:

I have been an AV Comparatives fan for long time, but what is happening with you in these days?

I changed my personal AV from Avira to MSE a year ago, and basicaly, since then, MSE was excluded from important tests as Real World and Anti-Phishing recently.

Ok, I know, MSE is not properly a suite, but if you consider MSE, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall (at least in Windows 7 editions), even with an observation, test it would be usefull.

At least me, and lots of friends from TI will not change to any paid AV without a nice comparasion between other products and MSE.

Please, consider include it soon, especially in Real World Report.

because in MSE case, it is like comparing apples to oranges. Explanations are written inside the reports. But you could email Microsoft and tell them your opinion and express their your wish to see them also included. MSE does not have any Anti-Phishing capabilities (=makes no sense including in Anti-Phishing test). MS security concept is distributed in various MS products (the uptodate OS, the uptodate IE browser, etc.); using just MSE in the dynamic test wouldn't currently be correct approach - it would evaluate mainly just the detection rates provided by MSE only (and if you want to compare only that, you can have a look at the detection rate test, where MSE is included). @GRM177: VB100 tests are not dynamic / real-world tests.

Hi, that's normal. The WPDT always runs from March to June and from August to November (like last year it is 2x 4 months). The File Detection Test runs this year in March and September instead of February and August, so the results are released later. From December to February we usually are busy mainly with programming new automations or improving/enhancing our in-house tools. Best regards, andreas

Where can I find the list of current WPDT participants sw version numbers? For instance, what version of Avast Free is tested? I assume Avast free 7?

Yes, it is Avast Free v7. The version numbers and all details will be in the overall report of July (which covers March-June).
